Married couple found dead in Roosevelt County
A Portales-area married couple are dead after what Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating as a murder suicide. The bodies of Elisa Aleman and her husband Aurelio Flores were found late Thursday night in one room of their home in Portales after police responded to a call about possible gunshots in the area.
They said they found Elisa Aleman who had been shot in the torso by her husband Aurelio Flores. The department said Flores had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Both were found in the living room of the home. The sheriff’s office said both bodies were taken to the Office of the Medical Investigator for autopsy (KRQE, Jordan Honeycutt, 7.31.23).
