Clovis Walmart closed in wake of massive fire

Walmart will be closed at this time and the fire is under investigation. No injuries have been reported.
Media Release, Clovis Police Department:
On Sunday, September 3rd, 2023, at about 3:36 a.m., Clovis Police Department Dispatch received a fire alarm activation for Walmart, 3728 North Prince Street. Clovis Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services, and Clovis Police Department responded to the scene.
On arrival, Officers and Fire Personnel reported the building was ablaze.
Due to the size of the building and the aggressive nature of the fire, additional fire units from surrounding agencies were requested to assist the Clovis Fire Department. Fire services from Cannon Air Force Base, Melrose, Ranchvale, Pleasant Hill, Texico, Portales, Grady, (New Mexico) along with Farwell and Bovina (Texas) responded to assist.
The Clovis Walmart will be closed to the public as this is an ongoing investigation. Access to the Walmart parking lot will be limited to Fire, Police, and designated personnel. Please make plans accordingly, the business may be shut down for a longer period.
If you have prescription medications that typically are served through the Walmart pharmacy, Walmart has been and will be attempting to contact you via text and email to guide you to the Portales Walmart. Online orders and pickup for the Clovis Walmart will be redirected to the Portales Walmart. Any other questions for Walmart may be fielded by contacting them at 1-800-WALMART.
Thank you to the combined efforts of our area fire fighters, the Curry County Sheriff’s Office, the New Mexico State Police, and Walmart management in their coordinated response. All night Walmart Associates have been accounted for and no injuries have been reported at this time. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has been requested to this investigation.
